Villiers: Big business must pay their taxes like everyone else

A diverted profits tax comes into effect from today which is designed to ensure that all multi-national businesses pay taxes on the business they do in the UK. The Conservatives have acted to close down loopholes which have meant that some familiar high street brands were paying little or no corporation tax. 

Villiers supports Manor Hill Greek School dinner

Theresa Villiers, MP for Chipping Barnet, attended the Manor Hill Greek School dinner at the weekend. A long time supporter of Manor Hill and other Greek schools in her constituency, Theresa has been attending this event for some years. The dinner is one of the biggest events on the calendar of the British Cypriot community in north London with around 500 parents, children, teachers and supporters attending.

Villiers attends Annual Dinner of the Democratic Party of Cypriots in England

Theresa Villiers, MP for Chipping Barnet, this weekend attended the annual dinner of the Democratic Party (DEKO), which took place at the Penridge Banqueting Suite in New Southgate. The host was the chairman of DEKO in the UK, Michael Ellinas, and the guest of honour was the party leader, Nicolas Papadopoulos, son of the late President of Cyprus, Tassos Papadopoulos.


Theresa Villiers, MP for Chipping Barnet, addressed a packed meeting at Barnet Synagogue, Eversleigh Road, on Sunday evening. Over 200 people from the Jewish community around Barnet and Enfield were there to set out their grave concerns about the increase in anti-Semitic incidents over the summer. The event was organised by Barnet Synagogue chair, Jeremy Apfel.
