VILLIERS COMPLETES FIREWALK CHALLENGE IN AID OF THE NORTH LONDON HOSPICE

Last Saturday, Theresa Villiers, MP for Chipping Barnet, successfully took up the challenge of walking across five metres of smouldering hot coals to help raise funds for the North London Hospice in her constituency. David Burrowes, MP for Enfield Southgate, also completed the challenge.

VILLIERS WELCOMES FUNDING BOOST FOR CHIPPING BARNET HIGH STREET

Theresa Villiers, MP for Chipping Barnet, has today welcomed a boost of £416,685 of funding for Chipping Barnet High Street. It follows an announcement by Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, of almost £10 million from his Outer London Fund to help 'bring the buzz back' to outer London's high streets.

VILLIERS: WHY I OPPOSE PLANS FOR A WASTE DISPOSAL PLANT AT PINKHAM WOOD

Earlier this week, the North London Waste Authority (NWLA) submitted a planning application to Haringey Council to build a waste disposal facility at Pinkham Way, just off the North Circular. Many of my constituents have contacted me about this issue, and whilst supportive of overall objectives for reducing landfill and increasing recycling, I am convinced that Pinkham Wood is simply the wrong location for a waste disposal plant - and the residents who live around the boundary of the site and use the roads on a daily basis strongly agree.

Barnet Appoints 47th Mayor Designate

Brunswick Park Councillor, Lisa Rutter, was on Tuesday 1st March elected the 47th Mayor Designate of Barnet following a full Council meeting at Hendon Town Hall.East Barnet Ward Councillor, Barry Evangeli, will be Deputy Mayor.
