Barnet Conservatives: Ending Labour's Broken Legacy and Fixing Barnet Again
Since taking control in 2022, Barnet Labour has recklessly squandered millions in reserves, massively increased debt, and plunged the Council into a deepening financial crisis – one that has forced bailouts from central government and left the Borough teetering on the edge of effective bankruptcy.
While Labour pursues vanity projects, endless consultations, and bureaucratic strategies, residents bear the real cost: through their council tax bills, declining frontline services, broken trust in local leadership, and a council that can no longer deliver for the people it serves.
Barnet Conservatives are ready to reverse this damage – restoring financial discipline, prioritising residents' needs, and rebuilding a council that works for everyone.
When Barnet goes to the polls on 7 May 2026, we cannot afford to invite the vandals back to finish the job.
You deserve hope – but hope alone is not enough. Barnet needs action, discipline and experienced leadership. Barnet Conservatives can provide it. We have turned the Council around before after a period of Labour control, and we will do it again.
Our manifesto sets out a clear, practical plan built around six priorities that matter to residents:
Fixing the Finances:
We will target efficiency, prioritise cost-avoidance, value for money and cut waste, so that we can focus on and improve essential services.
Good Roads and Great Parks
We will focus on investment to fix potholes and pavements, clean our streets and make our valuable green spaces great.
Safe and Pleasant Streets
We will take no-nonsense on crime and anti-social behaviour, using tough enforcement alongside the police to restore safety and community spirit to our neighbourhoods.
Building Better Homes
We will deliver much-needed homes the right way: family homes that are beautiful in design, practical in amenity and respectful to the special character of our Borough.
Getting Barnet Moving
We will introduce a sensible transport strategy that works for drivers, pedestrians and cyclists alike and makes travel around Barnet simpler and safer.
Respecting Residents
We will put you first with genuine consultations, clear communication and a Council that treats its residents as true partners.
This is our roadmap to restoring pride in Barnet, focusing on financial prudence, essential services and building a Borough of opportunity for everyone.
Don’t just hope for a better Barnet. Vote Conservative to get one.
